I was flying out of one of the most beautiful places on earth, Jackson Hole, WY. I’m not a skier, but it was stunning nonetheless. Some places hold a certain presence. Yet, the trip had to end. When I arrived at the airport, there were two flights back to Chicago. The first had been delayed three hours.
Ralphie from A Christmas Story came to mind … But I didn’t say fudge. I wonder how hard it is to change a tire on an airplane? I have no idea, but I can tell you that it took a little time.
Most folks on this flight had left before dawn, missed connection flights, and waited for three plus hours. Everyone responded a little differently. Some made demands. Others took naps. A few had been to the bar.
Me? Well, I was supposed to be on the second flight. Since I arrived early for my return trip (it wouldn’t leave for another two hours), I hopped on the delayed plane-after a flight change. All in all, I made it home two hours early. I have to admit I was pretty happy. A hundred people on same flight. All with different points of view. I’m sure karma will come back around. You just have to look for it.
