I rarely re-read books. I feel a book’s impact is based on its timing. Yes, the perfect book is the one that finds you at the right moment in time. Often, I don’t want my reading of the book to change. Still, I do go back To Kill a Mockingbird every now and then. I first read Scout’s coming of age story in a high school drama class, and the mystery of Boo Radley drove me to the finish. I look at differently now. I suppose the book’s complexity is its magic. Each read through is a bit different. The great books do that. I know Bill Gates reads The Great Gatsby annually. Maybe, I’ll give that one another look. It’s been a long time.
